For the third year in a row, Grade 8 students at Sunnyside Senior Public School will endeavour to explain and explore their lives through artistic expression.

The public art show, entitled What Is On Our Minds will have an official opening on Thursday, March 25, from 4 to 8:30 p.m. at the Stanley Park Community Centre.

In a press release, art teacher Chantry Makinen said “the project allows our students to express their feelings through a creative outlet on any issue that they feel is important. Each year I am amazed at the creativity and talent that these kids possess at such a young age.”

The students were allowed to express whatever was on their mind, using any medium they choose. Out of 250 pieces completed, 80 were chosen for the exhibit.

What Is On Our Minds teen art exhibit takes place at the Stanley Park Community Centre, 305 Franklin St. N., Kitchener from March 23 to April 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
