KITCHENER - Police are asking for help in locating a woman they say threatened to infect men with a disease if they did not hand over cash.

Waterloo Regional Police say the woman, who they believe is a prostitute, threatened to infect two men by biting them during the afternoon of March 9 and March 10 in Kitchener.

One incident took place on Queen Street. The other occurred at King and Ottawa streets. One of the men handed over money to the woman.

Waterloo Regional Police spokesperson Olaf Heinzel said the woman is being considered a suspect in two robberies but the main priority for investigators right now is to check on her wellbeing.

“We’d like to locate her to determine if she needs any medical asistance that we can help her get,” he said. “Our main focus is her safety.”

Heinzel said this case “is concerning for police” because there is a potential safety risk.

“We want to get the message out to people to exercise extreme caution,” he said.

The woman is described as white, 20 to 35 years old, about five-feet four-inches tall with a heavy build and scraggly, shoulder-length, reddish-brown hair. She may have dark skin.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-650-8500 ext. 4436 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
